2nd Grade

We have had a great 1st week. This week is assessment filled. Just getting those beginning of the year tests out of the way. I know the kids will be happy when those are over! We did start our Pioneer unit today in social studies by starting to read Little House in the Big Woods. I have many fun activities planned to go along with that. I am so proud of the kids. I can tell many of them worked hard over the summer. Their reading and writing has improved already. They can already say we have been writing ALOT more! :) I am looking forward to sharing many more accomplishments form the year with you.

Snack

Just a reminder...The new snack program will begin next week. Please send the snack money as soon as possible. We are really excited to begin this new program. I know it will make things a lot easier and more cost friendly for families! :)

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school and welcome to 2nd GRADE!!! I hope that everyone has had a fantastic summer. I know that I personally have, but it sure seems to have flown. I am so excited to get the school year started. First of all I would like to thank each family for allowing me the opportunity to have your child in my class again this year. I am just thrilled to have the privilege of having your child two years in a row. I have many fun activities planned that we will be able to get started on right away since I already know the kids! How neat is that. So thank you again for sharing your child with me! :) Please remember that I did move to a different classroom. We are now in the 2nd grade pod! We aren't off by ourselves anymore! My new classroom was previously the Guidance room. I hope to see everyone at Open House in a week from today!! Open House will be on Thursday, August 23. Open House is from 5:00-6:00. The kids may bring all their supplies to Open House so they don't have to hall as much to school on the 1st day! I am looking forward to seeing everyone and seeing how much the kids have grown. I have seen a few kids over the summer and WOW they getting SO tall!! Anxious to see everyone. Enjoy the last couple weeks of summer! Mrs. Naatjes
